Detailed data of common specifications
Small diameter cast iron pipes
Small diameter cast iron pipes (DN50~DN300) are usually used for drainage or water supply networks inside buildings. Taking DN100 as an example, its common outer diameter is 110mm and the wall thickness is 6mm. This pipe is easy to install and suitable for short-distance transportation.
Medium diameter cast iron pipes
Cast iron pipes with a size range of DN400~DN800 are classified as medium diameter. This pipe is used in urban water supply trunk pipes. For example, a DN600 ductile iron pipe has an outer diameter of 660mm and a wall thickness of 9mm, 12mm or 14mm depending on the pressure level.
Large diameter cast iron pipes
Large diameter cast iron pipes have a nominal diameter of more than DN1000 and are mainly used for long-distance water transportation in municipal water supply trunk networks. For example, a DN1200 ductile iron pipe has an outer diameter of 1320mm and a wall thickness of 18-20mm. This large-sized pipeline has higher transportation efficiency, but the construction difficulty and cost will also increase significantly.
